CRETE

Crete is the boundary island among Europe, Africa and Asia. The fifth largest island in the Mediterranean and the largest one in Greece. Separates the Libyan from the Aegean Sea.

Crete’s climate is the mildest in Europe. Mountains rise across the island, often creating different weather conditions in northern and southern Crete.

In western Crete, the White Mountains occupy a large area within the prefecture of Chania and contain more than 40 peaks over 2,000 meters high.
